Northwestern University's new computer center will be taking over part
of the academic computing function in the near future. We are an IBM shop
with the following hardware & software:
1 3090/170S running MVS 3.8, JES2 2.2.0, and VTAM 3.1.1.
1 3725 Communications Controller running NCP 2.1.0.
1 4381 that will be running VM/XA, VTAM, and RSCS, channel attached
to the 3090.
We need any and all information about connecting our network to Bitnet.
In particular, how do you define Bitnet in the NCP gen? Is it a PU? What
about associated LUs? How do you define Bitnet to VTAM? If there is some
sort of cookbook for attaching SNA networks to Bitnet, we would appreciate
info on how to get it.
