We are having problems hooking up certain modems with the AS/400. Some modems work fine, but others just don't generate the proper handshake required for the hook-up. Here are the basic details: we are trying to use PCS to link the As400 to some computers. The modem is a generic modem put out by a company called Zoom. The type of modem is HC2400. The technician at Zoom said the modem isn't really Hayes Compatible. More than likely that is the source of our problem. But is there a way to circumvent this problem? It would be helpful to know exactly what signal the AS400 is looking for. Can anybody help? Jim
