[comp.protocols.ibm] Connectivity with Unix Systems

root@swatty.UUCP (Superuser) (04/26/91)

A customer of mine has an IBM mainframe running VSE with no front end controller...

Any easy way to connect this to a 486 Unix Box for file transfer / terminal sessions...

There are currently using PC IRMA to link PC's in......

Thanx,

Larry

Sure. They're presently using a 3270 terminal emulator suitable for
DOS. Have them get a 486 box with UNIX that supports 3270 applications.

IMHO, they should try to buy their hardware, software, and emulator
all from the same supplier so as to get real support.
