Can anyone tell me offhand what the cluster size is for 10MB hard drives formatted with IBM's PC-DOS 2.1? It's either 2k or 4k, but I can't remember which. Thanks! Keith M. Dale <kdale@vaihingen-emh.arpa>

On my IBM PC which has a 10 MB hard disk with a controller made by DTC, the block size is 4 kb. Corwin Nichols, MicroTech Exports, 415-324-9114 cdp!corwin@SU-Glacier.ARPA ihnp4!hplabs!glacier!cdp!corwin {decwrl, sun, bellcore}!glacier!cdp!corwin

So if you have a bunch of little files ( <4K ) on a 10MB disk and move to a 20MB for more room, you will be seriously disappointed. On a 20MB disk, a 1 byte file wastes 8191 bytes of storage!
