I don't know just what they did, but the result was that temperature in the room in which our VAX-11/785 is housed went up to 89 degrees. We managed to keep the smaller disks working and UUCP active, but our main user disk had to be kept offline and the system just barely limped along. As a result comp.binaries.ibm.pc has been essentially dead since about December 18. I think the system is back up now, and if it remains up I will make up for the silence and catch up with the backlog in the next few days. Thanks for your patience. Incoming mail is saved and will be processed soon, but it's possible that some incoming mail was lost due to a few system crashes caused by disk errors.
