I am considering purchasing PRO/VENIX for my DEC PRO-350, and there are a few questions which are critical to me. 1. It is advertised as a licensed derivative of System V. Which release (i.e. V.1 or V.2) is it? 2. What graphics capabilities are provided? The POS/Toolkit I currently have provides both a SIGGRAPH CORE type high-level package and a low-level package of graphics routines. Does VENIX do likewise? 3. Since VenturCom is not AT&T, it presumably acknowledges the existence of languages other than C. Does VENIX have a Pascal compiler? 4. I want to do psychological experiments in vision and audition, and need to control the duration, say, of a visual display or auditory tone. Assuming I can do a wait/sleep type of function, what is the timing resolution supported by VENIX's real-time enhancements to System V? 10 msecs or less would be ideal. Any other stray comments or bits of information about VENIX would be greatly appreciated. THANKS! Steve Frysinger 201/386-7010 **** Why would I waste my time expressing anyone's opinion but my own?
