1. Does anybody have a Wordstar to nroff filter? Or would you enlighten me as to exactly what all those eight bits mean? 2. I have a floppy from Japan which was created on a Hitachi MS-Dos v2.11 machine. Apparently the HI hi-density drive is different from my AT hi-density drive. As below: Total disk capacity 1.26MB Number of tracks 154 ( 77 x 2 sides ) Sector/track 8 Sector length 1024 Number of directories 192 (Root directory) Reserved sector 1 Number of FAT (file allocation table) 2 Sectors/FAT 2 Sectors/Allocation Unit 1 Media Descriptor Byte FA Contents of the Disk Track No. Head No. Sector No. Record No. Contents 0 0 1 0 Boot record (generated from Format) 0 0 2-5 1-4 FAT ( Includes Backup) 0 0 6-8 5-10 Directory 0 1 1-3 5-10 Directory 0-76 1-1(sic) 4-8 11-1231 Data Area The above is( I hope a duplicate) of the information I received. If anybody has an idea about how I can read this, please help. Thanks in advance, Max Guernsey Tektronix tektronix!tekig5!tekig4
