My fiance is living and working in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I am now looking to relocate. Can anyone tell me what the job situation is like in Halifax, and what might be required as far as immigration and getting a work visa (permit?) goes? (I'm coming from the states; Chicago, Il.) I have heavy C experience under UNIX (and MS/DOS - PC/DOS), and my areas of expertise are in networking/communications, and X-windows/Open Look. I've been working in the industry for five years now, and am non-degreed. (Although I intend to finish my degree, upon relocation.). I am looking for something in the area of system administration/system tool development, but would be willing to look into any applications development opportunities, as well. I have been under contract at AT&T Bell Laboratories for the past two years, as a Technical Consultant. I have an online resume that I will be glad to send out to any interested parties.
