                 Summer Intern.

                 Prepared primary cultures  of fetal rat  hippocampi.  Set  up
                 spectrofluorimeter to  measure calcium  transients in  single
                 and populations of neurons.

  Spring  89-90  University  of  Connecticut,   Storrs,  CT.  Undergraduate
                 Research Assistant.

                 As a University Scholar, I  studied the effects of stress  on
                 renal epithelial  transport.   My  work  was presented  as  a
                 Senior Honors Thesis and received a $1000 award.

  Summer 88 & 89 University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, CT.  Lab
                 Assistant.

                 Studied second messenger involvement in signal  transduction.
                 Ca++ fluxes in  human tumor  cells were  measured using  Ca++
                 isotopes  and  Ca++  binding  fluorescent  dyes  (fura-2  and
                 Indo-1).  My  results were  presented in an  abstract at  the
                 annual  Cell  Biology  meeting  in  San  Francisco.     Other
                 responsibilities included tissue culturing, lab  maintenance,
                 and ordering laboratory supplies.
