The computer graphics group at Los Alamos National Laboratory is looking for some useful software tools. One tool that we need, but haven't found yet, is something to test to see whether all paths of a program or subroutine library are exercised by a test program. I've recently been bitten by two bugs that made it into production programs simply because the test case didn't exercise that code. The ideal tool would work with both FORTRAN 66 and 77 and C source code, and with programs that are mixed. Since I don't expect that such an animal exists yet, something that does just FORTRAN 77 would satisfy most of our needs. It must run under Unix on our Suns, or have source code available so we can port it. It doesn't matter whether the tool is a commercial product or not. We have both money and time we can spend on it, but we've got more time than money. If you know of such a thing, or have one to give away or sell, please let me know. Any pointers, however vague, would be appreciated. Please reply by mail, as I don't get comp.lang.fortran or comp.lang.c. If anyone else wants the same or similar things, let me know and I'll mail you copies of what I get. Thanks for the help.
