[comp.software-eng] CASE for Control Design

Keywords:ISI, SCT, MatrixX, Ctrl-C

I am currently evaluating two CASE products. Both are graphical
programming tools for generating simulations of dynamical systems.
The systems are described by block diagram icons that the user
constructs from the available symbol menu.
Intergrated System, Inc. sells MatrixX, System_Build, and AutoCode
(ADA, Fortran, C). System Control Technology, Inc. sell Ctrl-C and
Model-C. ISI AutoCode is an interesting project that generates
"real time" code from a discrete controller block defined in
System_Build. Autocode follows the ideas of Ward-Mellor for
the structure of their real time software shell.

I would appreciate any feedback from any one that has actually used
these products for an engineering design. System_Build has been
available for about a year. Model-C has just finished Beta testing.
AutoCode finished Beta test in January, 1988.
If there is enought interest, I'll post a summary of the responses.
