I'd like to propose a news group for topics relating to the life sciences. While it's not surprising that UseNet has a strong technocratic bias, it is unfortunate that there is no home for discussions on the natural sciences. This would include biology, chemistry, anthropology, archeology, and botany. Perhaps "net.natsci" would be a good name ("net.life" is too general). If nothing else, this would at long last give a home to the creationism/evolution debate. Jan Wolter University of Michigan

We already have net.bio, and net.physics. Discussions of chemistry don't come up too often, and when they do, they seem to fit well into one of these two categories. Anyway, most pronunciations of "natsci" imply that it should be a subgroup of net.politics. Is there anybody who is really sick and tired of hearing about natural science issues in any of our newsgroups? If not, we don't need a group for it.
