Further Thoughts.
I have found no interference with the Franklin, and the 80 Column display. I
haven't worked that extensively with the Franklin. I did have problems with
Kermit for DOS 3.3 and the 80 Columns. I was unable to get 80 column when using
that kermit. Trei (Peter, if I remember correctly) had a procedure from someone
which involved loading and starting at a point other than the usual start
point which go 80 cols on the //c. I just couldn't get it work. I have also
not worked very hard with binary or image files for the Apple. I hav elost of
experience with Kermit for CPM and MSDOS on computers other than the Apple, they
all seem to work well. I just never got around to using DOS Kerimt for those
kinds of transfer.
One final problem. I did some text t file transfers using DOS program
when I attempted to convert them from DOS 3.3 to CPM I found that the
convert program supplied with CPM software did not handle files larger than 32K
successfully. You got a program which sort of wandered into limbo and which
incorrectly terminated the file in CPM. It may work of t[D[D[D[D[D of [D[Dif you
have a complete unpopulated disk and the program acn write in contiguous aresa.
Can't type well this morning, asl well as have a very noisy line.
John
