Anyone have any pointers or info on the subject of designing systems to be fault tolerant? I am especially interested in how one makes tradeoffs between different fault tolerant techniques (e.g., should I use distributed recovery blocks, or is 3 modular redundancy the way to go). Another interesting area is how one uses a database in the presence of redundant computations. Please email to me, and I will summarize if there is interest. Thanks a bunch.... ---- jnixon%atl.decnet@ge-crd.arpa ...steinmetz!atl.decnet!jnxion Custom disclaimer by the legal firm of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe
