In looking into addding a profiling feature to a set of cross development
tools I ran across Weinberger's paper on making a cheap profiler. He
describes his programs for adding counters to the basic blocks in the
assembly code emitted by the C compiler and for generating reports from
the data. His paper infers that the programs are part of the folklore.
If so, can somebody out there in Netland send them (or their equivalent)
to me?
