		RESEARCH PROGRAMMER, CASE 

		prometheus software developments

			for the

	amdahl australian intelligent tool project

		at La Trobe University

Prometheus Software Developments, a wholly owned Victorian software development
company, is seeking a Research Programmer to join the Amdahl Australian Intelligent 
Tool Program (AAITP) at La Trobe University.

The AAITP is a joint project involving Prometheus, and La Trobe University and 
is funded by Amdahl Australia under the Victorian Offsets Program.
It will investigate the development of Artificial Intelligence based software
development tools for the international market.

An opportunity exists for a Research Programmer to join the project to assist
with the development of working protoypes ,to develop user interfaces
and to provide detailed knowledge of Unix operating system interfaces.

The position will appeal to either a recent graduate with practical
experience in windowing technology and Unix, or an experienced technologist
wishing to maintain their technical expertise. Preference will be given
to candidates with demonstrated abilities in C, windowing and Unix'
OS interfaces.

Suitable candidates will either be members of the Australian Computer Society, 
or be eligible for admission to one of its professional grades. The opportunity 
of a part-time
academic appointment at an appropriate level  within the Department of
Computer Science also exists. 

Some overseas and interstate travel may be required.

Salary will be in the range $25,000 to $40,000 p.a.
