Does anyone out there know of a project support environment from Imperial Software Technology, called IStar? The document I have describing it comes from IEEE Software, Nov. '87. In brief, the system breaks down the entire software life-cycle into a contract/client model. A project manager contracts out to clients, for example: specification, scheduling, reporting, and standards. The client can then subcontract out their responsibilities, etc, etc... I'm interested in finding out if anyone is still using it, if it has been enhanced since then, what the overall reaction/criticism to the system is etc.... According to the document both Motorola US and Plessey Co. in UK have been using it since late 1986. If anyone has more information I'd certainly like to hear about it.
