[comp.software-eng] Softw. construction

sprinzl@tuvie (Antonin Sprinzl) (05/29/90)

Dear netters:
As everyone knows construction of software (software engineering ?)
means more than consideration of tools or methodologies or ... alone.
Needed is an "appropriate mixture" of the whole instrumentarium available
(instrumentarium is almost everything what can help you to realize
the final aim, i.e. ... tools, formal models, techniques, management
practices, useful heuristics, knowledge ... of social behavior of groups,
individuals, to name just few components). The 'bowl mixture' usually
depends on the domain in question, novelty and size of the domain system
to be realized ... ( + lot of other items ).
Now, let's try to construct a (software) product, say a "confortable soft
eng evironment" (ehmmm, yes 'confortable') under 'usual' economic constrains.

I'd like to experience your personal *feeling* about ...
 o) the right ingredients in such a 'mixture' (please, your choice) and
 o) the *feeled* relevance of those ingredients (expressed in max 20 points).

For instance : motivation/5, creativity/4, social environment/3, tools/2,
appropriate collection of methods/3, management and quality matters/3.
(Please, don't ask me what kind of metrics I intend to use).
I would be very glad to get response from different 'continents' as well as
diff. cultures. If there's broader interest I'll summarize.
Thanks in advance, Tony.
