[comp.software-eng] Clean room - Mills info

wozniak@utkux1.utk.edu (Bryon Lape) (06/07/90)

There is part of the information, a day late. I could not find
the papers that we had to read for the class, but if I do, I will post
the titles.

The books used in the undergraduate level class are:
"Principles of Information Systems Analysis and Design"
		Harlan D. Mills
		Richard C. Linger
		Alan R. Herner

"Structured Programming - Theory and Practice"
		Richard C. Linger
		Harlan D. Mills
		B.I. Witt

Think what you will about programmes that run correct the first
time, but Mills did get fellowships for several years in a row using
these methods. Also, many software companies in the PC domain are
starting to require developers to use the methods in these books. In
fact, Lotus sent part of their development team here to get a quick
lesson from Dr. Poore, the CS department head at UT.
