As the "Chair" for the DECUS (Digital Equipment Computer Users Society) L&T SIG (Language and Tools Special Interest Group) CASE and Tools Integration Working Group I am responsible for putting out a newsletter (somewhat regularly). I would like to include in the next newsletter a list of all (well as many as I can locate) texts on CASE methods. I have posted this as a request to the "world" to please send me any references you would like to see in this bibliography. Your help in this matter is much appreciated. If you would care to make my life "easier" (and that would be appreciated :-) ) please use the following format: Stevens, W.P., G.J. Myers and L.L. Constantine. "Structured Design." IBM Systems Journal, vol. 13, no 2, 1974. Yourdon, Edward, and L.L. Constantine. Structured Design. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Yourdon Press/Prentice-Hall, 1979. Thank you in advance. Once the project has been completed (and the newsletter written) the entire bibliogrophy will be posted here for any that are interested. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | J.M. So, are you looking at methods like the UK-method SSADM, which is in my view a better fit for automating and integrating in a CASE toolset? In that CASE I would advice to read SSADM-articles. I am responsible for generating a "newsletter", In this newsletter I try to put in information that would interest the 100+ members of the working group. This newsletter also contains information on the workings of the working group. I am asking for help in developing a bibliography of references that deal CASE. This includes 'Structured Analysis and Design Methods', concepts of how to use object oriented design in an automatted environment, et al. CASE, as we define it, is not just the use of some tool to draw preaty pictures and develope data-flow diagrams with. CASE has to take into effect all functions of the software lifecycle if it is to bee effective. In terms of DEC and the available toosets, we consider VAXset (A Digital Equipment Corp. product) to be as much a CASE product as all the "drawing" tools. Once again, Please forward to me, any and all references that you may have and want to see included in a bibliography of this type. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | J.M. Would anyone be so kind as to recommend a good text concerning CASE tools? Thank you. John Jensen JMJ105@PSUVM.cs.psu.edu
