The First International Working Conference on Dynamic Modelling
of Information Systems, held April 9th and 10th, 1990 in
Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands, was a big success. Over fifty
researchers from all over the world came together to share their
theories and experience about this new field of inquiry in
information systems. The quality od the fifteen papers presented,
and the stimulation discussions during the two days, proved that
this new field of inquiry is indeed important, and that further
research is merited. The edited proceedings of that conference
are to be published this fall by Elsevier publishers.

The Second International Working Conference on Dynamic Modelling
of Information Systems will be held July 17-19, 1991 in
Washington, D.C., U.S.A., on the campus of The American
University. The dates for the conference are immediately before
the 1991 Summer Computer Simulation Conference to be held in
Baltimore, Maryland (just outside Washington D.C.), July 22-24.

The Second International Working Conference plans to have two
tracks: one theoretical and one empirical. There will also be a
plenary session with an invited speaker, and a plenary session
covering dynamic modelling tools. The theoretical topics are
languages and petri-nets, and the empirical topics are simulation
of information systems and empirical studies. For the session on
dynamic modelling tools, papers are requested as well. There will
also be limited space for participants at the conference who do
not present papers.

As this will be a working conference, ample time will be given
to speakers to present their papers. There will also be enough
time for discussion, both during the sessions and afterward.

If you have any questions concerning this working conference,
don't hesitate to contact either Robert Crosslin at American
University or Alexander Verbraeck at Delft University, the
Netherlands.

We look forward to hearing from you and also to seeing you in
Washington in July.
