We are involved in investigating potential Software Configuration Management
Systems which are available (DEC/ULTRIX perfered). We are interested in any
first hand information you may have on any CM tools ease of use, ease of
installation, vendor support performance etc. both GOOD and BAD.
It is our intention to establish a Software Configuration Management support
system which will be expandable in the future to encompass many other
non-software related areas within the company.
Some major areas where details of performance and use would be useful.
Parallel Development (cross department, 60+ engineers)
Problem Reporting and Tracking
Change Control
Build Support
Individual Environments
Any recommendations? or companies to avoid?
