A few weeks back there was some discussion of bug tracking systems. I never saw a summary of the available tools. We're looking for something to help us track bug reports and fixes both for our fielded systems and for internal testing and V&V. My environment, if that makes a difference: Apollo OS 10.3, running mostly BSD4.3. Either a PD or Commercial system will do. I strongly recommend DDTS (Distributed Defect Tracking System) from QualTrak in San Jose, CA. (408-274-8867). It's a commercial system but it's set up so that you can modify most of the system (screens, reports, etc.) to be completely customizable to your organization. It's also cheap because it's not fancy (i.e. it's one of those things that is really so simple that it's elegant). I've used it at Salomon Brothers in NY and now here at the bank and have had great success with it. -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Scott Cairns email: scairns@bank.citib.com | | One Court Square / 27th Floor phone: (718) 248-5366 | | Long Island City, NY 11120 fax: (718) 248-6855 |
