I'm looking for recommendations on coverage utilities or other analysis tools used in later evaluation phases (unit testing, integration testing, system testing). We're using tcov for statement coverage. I'm interesting in learning about utilities for other forms of coverage or other types of analysis. I checked my archives of previous postings in this area on this group. I found some stuff on public domain metric packages (Halstead and MaCabe) and the bibliographies of CASE tools, so I have some pointers. However, I'm a new reader, so I could have easily missed an earlier posting. At the moment, I reluctant to embrace one of the big CASE systems with the associated expense and training. Instead, I'm wondering if there are smaller, lower cost utilities which provide benifits without the large initial investment. In reviewing these older posting, there seemed to be several pointers to front-end tools (requirements capture, design specification, etc.), but fewer to back-end tools. Hence this posting! We working in C++ now, so pointers to utilities for this language would be most helpful. Suggestions for utilities which work on C code would be fine. Any thoughts are welcome.
