FOURTEENTH MINNOWBROOK WORKSHOP ON SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
(TUTORIAL: July 22-23, WORKSHOP: July 23-26, 1991)
Sponsored by: Syracuse University and Purdue University
(Software Engineering Research Center); in cooperation with Rome
Laboratory, GAFB,NY.
The Fourteenth Workshop will be held at the Minnowbrook Conference
Center of Syracuse University located at Blue Mountain Lake, in New
York. As in the previous years, the workshop will address various
software engineering issues of current interest. Additionally, this
year we are especially interested in papers dealing with evaluation
of software engineering methodologies. Following is a partial list
of areas of interest at this workshop.
.Formal Methods .Testing and Reliability
.Object Oriented Methods .Fault-Tolerant software
.Metrics and Measurement .Prototyping and Reusability
.Validation & Verification .Development Environment
The workshop will include both invited and contributed papers as
well as panel sessions. An optional, one day tutorial
on Software Testing and Reliability is also being planned for
Monday July 22-23, 1991.
If you are interested in participating in this workshop, please
complete the enclosed form and return it as soon as possible since
attendance is limited to the capacity of the conference center (63
people).
If you would like to present a paper, please send a 100-300 word
summary or a complete paper by June 7th 1991 to either Amrit Goel
or Aditya Mathur. We hope to finalize the program by mid-June,
therefore early submissions are highly encouraged.

LOCATION: Minnowbrook is located in the Central Adirondack
mountains on the north shore of Blue Mountain Lake. It is 135 miles
from Syracuse, 90 miles from Utica, 115 miles from Albany, and 265
miles from New York City. A one-mile secondary road to Minnowbrook
leaves Route 30 just north of Blue Mountain Lake Village. From New
York City take 87 to 28 to 30; from Buffalo take 90 to 12 to 28 to

SETTING: The Minnowbrook Conference Center includes 28 acres of
choice wooded land along the northern shore of beautiful Blue
Mountain Lake. Two attractive modern lodges provide gracious living
accommodations for up to 60 guests. This number may be increased
through use of adjacent commercial lodge. Most rooms are for double
occupancy. A spacious central lounge, a meeting room for industrial
sessions, and a large recreation hall make Minnowbrook an ideal
setting for seminars involving professional and business groups.
Those attending Minnowbrook conferences dress informally, find
ample opportunity to enjoy the natural beauties of the woodland
setting in an atmosphere of relaxation and good fellowship. Each
conference group has exclusive use of the Center, ensuring complete
privacy.
MINNOWBROOK WORKSHOP on SOFTWARE ENGINEERING FOR PARALLEL COMPUTING

University; in Cooperation with Rome Laboratory, GAFB, NY
This workshop will be held at the Minnowbrook Conference Center of
Syracuse University, Blue Mountain Lake, New York. It will deal with
the problems of developing software for parallel computers. This
workshop will provide a unique forum for the exchange of new theories
and empirical results between the participants from academia,
industry and government. Following is a partial list of the areas of
interest at this workshop.
*Programming languages for parallel computers
*Performance Evaluation Tools
*Graphical Parallel Programming Aids and Tools
*Visualization Techniques
*Programming Environments and Debuggers
*Testing and Metrics for Parallel Software
