Just curious: Has anyone managed to include PostScript objects in TeX documents? Some qualifiers: We're running VMS with an ArborText DVILASER/PS Driver, and an LPS-40 DEC Printserver. If there's an easy(ish) way to do so, I'd appreciate hearing of it. [Please respond by Email, as I don't follow these groups as a regular thing..] Thanks a lot, - Jon . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It is available for anonymous ftp it from linc.cis.upenn.edu in ~ftp/dist/psfig/tex.tar.Z A slightly older version should be available in the comp.sources archives under the name figtex. For all those who dont have dvips (which is a $comerical$ product): sorry but nobody has made the needed mods to dvi2ps to allow literal postscript passthrough as well as file inclusion as far as I know. (hint-- if anyone has a dvi2ps that can do this I might find the time to make psfig/tex work with it) Also I do not as a habit like to mail these sources around, since the tar file (incl. sample figures) is large. If you cant use ftp please find a nearby site that can and is willing to help you out. --trevor

I did it a while ago using the \special command as mentioned in the
TeXbook and in some document about our dvi2ps. Everything worked fine,
thank you, except the mess with coordinates (origin & directions didn't
agree with the description, but I can't remember exactly.) Eric
