Is the Canon LBP-SX laser printer engine (used in the newly announced Apple Laserwriter IIs) a write-black engine (like the engine in the Laserwriter) or a write-white engine? -- Steve Grandi, National Optical Astronomy Observatories, Tucson AZ, 602-325-9228 UUCP: {arizona,decvax,hao,ihnp4}!noao!grandi or uunet!noao.arizona.edu!grandi Internet: grandi@noao.arizona.edu SPAN/HEPNET: 5356::GRANDI or DRACO::GRANDI

Since small marks, including parts of characters, come out differently on write-black and write-white, I think descriptions of printers should always say which they are. But this information is seldom given. Since I am tooled up for write-black, a write-white printer is a non-starter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bruce Langdon L-472 langdon@lll-lcc.llnl.gov Physics Department 339650%d@nmfecc.arpa Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Livermore, CA 94550 (415) 422-5444 UUCP: ..{ihnp4,qantel,ucdavis,pyramid,harvard,topaz}!lll-lcc!langdon
