I am interested in learning about techniques for integrating Postscript files from disparate sources. For example, suppose you are creating an NSF proposal and have created the text with Scribe, the pictures with MacDraw, the budget with Lotus, and the cover sheet by hand. How would you get it into a single Postscript file today? For any two systems you use, please tell me how you create a postscript file in one and integrate it into the other. Such details has the techniques for adding Laserprep for Mac files in particular systems are of interest. I have some information on Scribe, Tex, and troff, already, but could use more hints. I know nothing about Lotus, MS-Word, WordPerfect, Page-maker, .... I'll make the results available on this bulletin board.

As you must know TeX allows insertion of PostScript; dvi2ps makes a reference
to MacDraw image insertion. I believe that PageMaker can generate PostScript
as does Write in MS-DOS. There exists also a package "mfps" which translates
GEM metafiles to PostScript (even encapsulated PostScript). Somebody at
unido (University of Dortmund) on BITNET developed a TeX macro called psfig
which takes an encapsulated (or not) 1 page PostScript file) and inserts the
proper TeX \special command. I hope that this helps some.
