We have got NeWS 1.1 running on a SUN 3/60 under SUN os 3.4. I expected to be able to preview, using psview, the output from transcript filters (pscat, psdit etc) intended for a laser- writer without any change. This turned out to be too optimistic, however. After some trouble I was able to identify the changes to the prolog file needed to be able to view the output from ptroff (which uses pscat). Actually, I would like to go on and preview the output from psdit (including modifications for psfig!) and so on. So, does anyone know of a way to make psview behave more like a laserwriter? Maybe this is a question that doesn't have an answer, but any information would be appreciated. Lars Andersson larsa@nada.kth.se

Sounds fishy. We've got NeWS 1.1 running on 3/50s under SunOS-3.2
and Adobe TranScript (not the Sun verion; although I doubt there is any
difference). We do "bib | tbl | eqn | ptroff -me -t - file; psview file"
all the time. Works like a charm.
