This is a relatively more complicated map. It is not only a map of Charon 27 with the viability limit demarcated. It also has the restriction sites indicated in the original publication. Furthermore, span lines have been added to note the actual lengths of the restriction fragments. I refer to this map constantly when mapping Charon 27 clones. %% 0.5 setlinewidth %% Charon 27 follows 50 percentBLACK 0.4 inch LEFTMARGIN 8.1 inch RIGHTMARGIN 5 inch YCENTER %% 8 POINTSIZE /Times-Roman SETFONT 41783 PHAGELENGTH 0.3 inch ticLENGTH 0.4 inch textLENGTH 0 inch WIDTH 0 19700 linSEGMENT (BglII 482) 482 linRESITEvd (KpnI 17290) 17290 linRESITEv (KpnI 18812) 18812 linRESITEv (L-vl 19700) 19700 linRESITEv 0.1 inch WIDTH 19700 33552 linSEGMENT (KpnI 32525) 32525 linRESITEv (EcoRI 21569) 21569 linRESITEv 0.5 inch ticLENGTH 0.6 inch textLENGTH (BamHI 22703) 22703 linRESITEv 0.3 inch ticLENGTH 0.4 inch textLENGTH (HindIII 23513) 23513 linRESITEv (XhoI 29654) 29654 linRESITEv (SalI 33547) 33547 linRESITEv (BglII 22784) 22784 linRESITEvd (BglII 28898) 28898 linRESITEvd (BglII 33256) 33256 linRESITEvd (BglII 29780) 29780 linRESITEvd 0 inch WIDTH 33552 TotalLength linSEGMENT % (R-vl 33552) 33552 linRESITEv (KpnI 34182) 34182 linRESITEv (BglII 35131) 35131 linRESITEvd (***) 35146 linRESITEv 0.3 inch textLENGTH 9 POINTSIZE /Times-Roman SETFONT (Viability) 26000 linLABEL (Limit) 26000 linLABELd % %% End of Map %% Span lines follow 0.05 inch WIDTH 0.15 inch textLENGTH 7 POINTSIZE /Times-Roman SETFONT /ds 2 def -1.5 inch spanDISTANCE % spanDISTANCE and spanLENGTH synonyms % BglII fragments 0 482 linNSPANd 482 22784 linNSPANd 22784 28898 linNSPANd 28898 29780 linNSPANd 29780 33256 linNSPANd 33256 35131 linNSPANd 35131 41783 linNSPANd 2.0 inch spanDISTANCE % KpnI fragments 0 17290 linNSPAN 17290 18812 linNSPAN 18812 32525 linNSPAN 32525 34182 linNSPAN 34182 41783 linNSPAN 1.5 inch spanDISTANCE % %EcoRI/Hind III fragments 0 21569 linNSPAN 21569 22703 linNSPAN 22703 23513 linNSPAN 23513 41783 linNSPAN -- --------- Craig Werner (Lognames: werner, craigw) "This is no social crisis, just another tricky day for you."
