I have been having the same problem with MS-Word and PostScript printers. I too redirect output to a file, then upload it to the host machine where there are several different brands of PostScript printers. I am not lucky enough to be able to have my own printer on my PC. Besides it would be a waste. I spool the postscrp.ini file to the printer automatically each morning. Then print files as necessary. When I send the prolog with the document after the printer has been reset, I get the same "undefined; OffendingCommand: blah" message, but the job prints and reattempts twice. This is a feature of our spooler. When I spool the document after the prolog was spooled, I get three documents. I receive the same error each time. I gave up after trying to debug the prolog and called Microsoft support. It appears that they never intended to have output redirected to a file then printed. The program attempts to download the prolog each time to the printer when printed directly, but never assembles it with the document when redirected. Additionally, the prolog resides in virtual memory until the printer is reset. How about just for that job. I think that there is some side-effect when the prolog is resident in VM that the printer does not like when working with our spooler. If anyone from MS is listening, can you help us? Mark L.
