I'm not sure this is the right group for this question, but here goes ... Our research group just got a LaserWriter IIntx that we want to use in both PostScript mode and HP LaserJet+ emulation mode. This switching can be done with external dip switches, but can it be done in software ? The Apple ntx manual seems to say yes but not how. And the Adobe book talks about setting certain EEROM locations with the seteescratch command to alter Diablo emulation, so maybe HP emulation can be finagled the same way? But what locations and settings ? A corollary question - there is a warning about changing the EEROM 10,000 times or so before it dies in both the Adobe book and the ntx manual, but looking at the ntx motherboard, we see a MOS Zero-power RAM (equivalent of an EEROM), which should be switchable an infinite nber of times, so is this warning g now obsolete? Thanks for any help or pointers to the right info ... Steve Plimpton (please e-mail replies) plimpton@cheme.tn.cornell.edu
