[comp.lang.postscript] cshow operator

john@trigraph.UUCP (John Chew) (08/19/88)

I've been browsing through the prologues of some Adobe Illustrator '88
files and have found several ProcSets that define recent PostScript
extensions such as support for CMYK colour and packed arrays, presumably
for use on older output devices.

However, I can't find any references anywhere (the green book, PS
Language Update Rev. 2) to an operator named `cshow'. From the
definition, it appears to be a variant on show that calls a user-defined
procedure on each character in a string, passing it `0 0 char' and
expecting nothing on return. Can anyone tell me what it should
be used for?

Thanks.

John
