In helping my orgainization to bring up transcript 2.1(?), I was comparing the ditroff width tables generated by afmdit using the new .afms with those generated from the old .afms. I noticed that there are significant width chagnes for the numbersign, the currency, the yen, and the florin characters. When I printed a sample involving these characters using the old widths, the spacing looked just fine to me. Does anyone know the reason for the change?
