Two questions: (1) We need to print out the IBM box-drawing characters on our LaserWriter II NTX. I am told by Adobe that these are actually in the font dictionary for Letter Gothic and Orator, but not Courier; so I would buy Letter Gothic (not Orator...) and fiddle with "hooking up" those characters (they are not printable in the default setup) as per the stuff at the end of the Blue Book. My question is; do you net people know another way we could get these? Or do I have to do basically what I have described heretofore? (2) How would it be possible for me to tweak a font slightly? Right now, in our documentation we use Courier for code examples. This leaves us with a fairly clear distinction between a 0 and a O (the 0 is skinnier), but with a very hazy distinction between a 1 and a l (the 1 has a long diagonal serif at the top, wheras the l has a horizontal shorter serif). Would it be possible to, say, add a diagonal bar across the 0, and do SOMETHING to add clarity to 1's and l's? I'm fairly handy at Postscript code hacking, but only at the level of making pretty pictures... I know nothing about hacking up dictionaries. Please note, I would appreciate mail replies to my work address, as per my .signature. If you feel this is of enough far-reaching interest, feel free to followup... aTdHvAaNnKcSe. -- /|\ /|\ .. . . . . . . . . . . | |\| |\| .. . . . . . . . . . . |/|\|/|\|/|| _ _ _ _ |_| _ _ |_ -__ _ _ARPA: lupin3@ucscb.ucsc.EDU | |/| |/|L_ (_\( ( (_/ | |(_\_) (_ || )(_)_)UUCP: *!ucbvax!ucscc!ucscb!lupin3 \|/ \|/ larry / hastings _/ WORK: sun!acad!metaware!funkster MetaWare "I wish people who have trouble communicating would just shut up."\\\ IncorporateDisclaimer:[MetaWare, UCSC]->opinion!=lhastings->opinion\\\Tom Lehrer
