[comp.lang.postscript] postscript film recorders

Does anybody know of companies that sell PostScript film recorders?
Or companies that offer the service of turning PostScript into slides?

Most all publishing and graphics houses can turn PostScript into
beautiful n * 1000 dots per inch PostScript. But can anyone reasonably
turn PostScript into slides with a resolution of 4000 dots by 3000 dots?
If they do offer this service, do they offer color?

Most companies that do slide service want the data in Cricket Presents
or Cricket Draw or PICT format. I've yet to find anyone that does it
in PostScript.

I attended the Seybold Conference on Desktop Publishing in Santa Clara, CA
(Sept 13-17, 1988.) John Warnock of Adobe Systems was on stage. One guy
on the floor asked him when will be the first PostScript film recorder
available. John answered "soon". The audience was really upset. John
received a lots of boos and yelling from the audience.

To my understanding, he has been saying the same thing since day one.
The audience was blaming Adobe Systems for the lack of a film recorder
due to their expensive license fee.

I am new to this field, but based on what I heard from the conference,
there was NO postscript film recorder in the market as of mid September,88.

Good luck in your search (or perhaps patience is more useful in this case)
