Has anyone hacked Crispin Goswell's PostScript (or: GNU GhostScript), to make it generate PBM files (cf. Jef Poskanzer's PBM package, recently posted on comp.sources.misc)? -- Gideon Yuval, yuval@taux01.nsc.com, +972-2-690992 (home) ,-52-522255(work) Paper-mail: National Semiconductor, 6 Maskit St., Herzliyah, Israel TWX: 33691, fax: +972-52-558322

The way I do it is to run NeWS, display the PostScript with psview, do a screen dump, convert that to PBM, and then cut/crop it down to size. If you have any way of displaying PostScript on a screen, you can do something similar. If all you have is a Laserwriter... well, it's possible in theory to upload the rendered bitmap from the Laserwriter... --- Jef Jef Poskanzer jef@rtsg.ee.lbl.gov ...well!pokey "Furious activity is no substitute for understanding." -- H.
