Recently found I could print the .PS files which came from CMU and made with Scribe by sending them over DECNET to our LPS40. Really SLICK. Then tried some files which came from ucb, bind package, made with DITroff, I believe. I got source lines out, just like source lines in. Does this tell me that there are many KINDS of Postscript (tm) and I am NOT going to use but a few unless I buy whole different adaptation packages to convert the outputs so they will print on any single printer. I have also had poor luck at getting call backs from Adobe folks. Any experiences will be greatly appreciated ( in terms of interoperability ). -- The_Main_User (So Calif SunLUG | Vta-SB-SLO-DECUS) efb@elroy.JPL.Nasa.Gov sun!tsunami!suned1!efb efbatey@nswses.arpa Statements, Opinions ... I'm not quite sure what your problem is. Almost any PostScript I've gotten my hands on works just fine on the LPS40, including (and especially) ditroff output. How are you getting the data to the LPS40? With the VMS LPS40 symbiont? If so, make sure you included a "DATA_TYPE=POST" parameter on the PRINT command. For other approaches, check to see if the first two characters of the file are "%!" -- some spoolers check that to see if they're printing PostScript.
