I've been hearing a lot about an Encapsulated PostScript Standard (.EPS) used by various IBM desktop publishing programs and paint programs. Can anyone tell me about this standard, i.e. how it encodes or translates the PostScript code, whether it uses special headers, etc. Basically, I want to know if I can write my own PostScript programs and port them over to .EPS easily, and if so, how?
