[comp.lang.postscript] PostScript -> Xerox 9700 filter

goosh@cisunx.UUCP (Walter Perz) (01/27/89)

HI

Does anyone know of a postscript -> Xerox filter? If not, is there a way
to get a troff file into Xerox format?

Thanks for all your replies

I believe a company called Elixir Software is working on a
PostScript to 9700 conversion program. They've been marketing a
Ventura to 9700 conversion program through Xerox, which transforms a
4045 print file to a 9700 file. My company is interested in the
latter program, so I've started to explore the possibility of using
it. The VP to 9700 program isn't cheap ($2,500), and I doubt that
the PostScript conversion program will be either. If anyone wants
more info about who to contact at Xerox, send e-mail to my BITNET
address.

Boy could I use this the other way (postscript==>9700)!!
I think what is needed for this is an Interpress<==>postscript
converter.

Anybody got one :-) !!

Hey, why the laughter ? I understand that the 9700 or more correctly
9790 use the XEROX Interpress language which is almost as capable
as postscript (I said almost as this is a postscript group and I don't
won't to start a war I would probably lose).
