[comp.lang.postscript] How to print selected pages of TeX-generated postscript file?

Can anyone tell me how to print selected pages of
a TeX-generated postscript file?

I'd like to print the gnu elisp manual in chunks
of 20 pages or so.

The program PSOPT apparently works only on
Adobe format postscript files, not TeX-generated
postscript files, according to its author.

It is easier to subset the DVI file first.  In fact I think most DVI to
PS filters generate page order dependent code due to the incremental
font loading strategy.  There is dviselect on the TeX tape and dvidvi
by ftp from sun.soe.clarkson.edu.
