Also, there's a very good new book out, called "Real World PostScript", and it details how current programmers use PostScript to get serious work done. I believe the Publisher is also Addison-Wesley. I forget the author's name; the book is quite comparable to the Green Book. ---------- rich scott (612) 642-8404 internet: rscott@diamond.unix.eta.com eta systems, st. paul, mn uucp: {amdahl, rutgers}!bungia!eta!rscott "I've been on a calendar, but never on time" - Marilyn Monroe

Adobe has three books out (at least) on Postscript. They are: POSTSCRIPT Language Reference Manual (the Red Book) POSTSCRIPT Language Tutorial and Cookbook (the Blue Book) POSTSCRIPT Language Program Design (the Green Book) The Red book covers the language definition and is definitive. It covers all syntax and operators of the language, and is the standard language reference. It also has a chapter covering the LaserWriter implementation. The Blue book is very useful (as its title suggests) but does not attempt to define the language. The Green book is most useful for driver writers and contains many a valuable bit of information on how to write efficient drivers. Advanced. The publisher of all three is Addison-Wesley; the author is Adobe Systems Incorporated. Check out in your local library under call QA76.73.P67P67 and there-abouts. Martin Fox
