[comp.lang.postscript] DownLoading Adobe Fonts form a PC

alanj@ibmpcug.UUCP (Alan Jay) (03/23/89)

I'm new to PostScript and have an IBM PC (compatible) and a AST TurboLaser/PS
(PostScript ver 47). I produce a newsletter which uses fonts not in the
standard 35 (actually Garamond and Helvetica Condensed/Black). Having
purchased the fonts from Adobe I discovered that I seem to have to use
thier arcane downloading program that only works on the serial line
(the AST has a Parallel).

Is there a way of writing a Portscript program to wrap the fonts in
and download them to the printer. This could then be wrapped up in
a batch file so that I don't have to worry about it first thing every
morning.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Regards
Alan Jay

PS Could you send me E:mail as I only occasionly get a chance to read the
news.
