NOTWITHSTANDING that this message is premature (I just took delivery of the red, green, and blue books but have not yet read them thoroughly), and that I am undoubtedly neither the first nor the last person to ask this: What is Encapsulated PostScript, precisely? I have managed to get several tools to emit PS files that are intended to go straight to a printer, but I need to create .EPS files for inclusion in a document produced by Borland's Sprint (tm), and I cannot get a straight answer (from someone who's not trying to sell me his product to do this) about what, precisely, I have yet to accomplish. Need I merely prepend "header comments" to an otherwise not-encapsulated PostScript file? If so, which are mandatory, if any? I know this can't be that difficult, but just try to look in up in the respective indices of the above-mentioned books and see how far you get. Harrumph! :-) -Jim Hickstein jxh@cup.portal.com ...!sun!portal!cup.portal.com!jxh
