[comp.lang.postscript] sending a postscript file to a laserwriter II nt

HBX@PSUVM.BITNET (Terry Harrison 336 Beam BAB 3-3357) (04/11/89)

we have some apple laserwriter II nt's in our labs. i recently received a
technical report via e-mail that is a postscript file. when i tried to
print it under dos to the laserwriter with the command:
  COPY BENCHMRK.ANL/B LPT1
only the first page gets printed. (i had already issued a MODE command to
setup the com port as lpt1, at the proper baud rate.)

a friend who uses a version of TeX for the pc suggested that dos is not
handling the hand-shaking between the pc and the laserwriter properly. to
demonstrate his point, he printed my document via a program (not public
domain) that came with his TeX package. it printed everything just fine.
does anyone know of a public domain executable (.com or .exe) that does the
same thing. please e-mail to me directly. if lot's of other folks send me
e-mail asking for the info., once i get it, i will post a response to the net.

thanks,
