[comp.lang.postscript] troff on Laserjets is better than with postscript

tr@ctt.bellcore.com (tom reingold) (05/09/89)

Asking the folks who use troff on a Postscript printer:

Isn't the font a little small? Comparing the outputs from a laserjet
and postscript printers, the laserjet makes more handsome output. Some
of the users of the systems that I run complain this. I can't
disagree. But I don't want to invest in laserjets; postscript is more
promising.

No, I can't just change the font size from within troff. There are
standard macro packages and they set the font size for certain things
like regular text, section headings, etc. We don't have time to
replace the macro packages.

(We are using ditroff. Our postscript printers are Apples and
Dataproducts.)

Any help suggested?
