Perhaps someone can help me with a Laserwriter problem I have been having:- We have several laser printers (original Laserwriters, IINTXs, Agfa P3400) and I know that they all have slightly different imaging areas, both in terms of size and origin. Recently we had an old Laserwriter go faulty and it was replaced with a similar machine, but apparently one with a later version of the firmware. (This was an Apple printer, badged by Sun). The Postscript coordinates of the imaging area on this printer seemed to be about 1/2 inch lower than the original printer which conformed to the figures given in the red book. I would guess that maybe the new firmware understands the A4 paper we are using, even though it is incapable of printing on all of it (or is it?!) The old one took A4 paper in the tray, but only printed on a "letter" sized area towards the top of the paper. Is this a feature of the firmware version? Are the new coordinates of the imaging area documented anywhere? Am I likely to find another version of the firmware with different coordinates again? (This is not an question of "setmargins" BTW. The imaging area is still in the same place on the page - it is the Postscript origin which seems to have moved) Any comments or pointers to documentation would be welcome.
