Is there a way to display all of the "paper size" information available within a printer. For example, my printer (Nec LC890) can recognize the paper sized of letter, legal, a4 and b5. I would like to print the actual paper dimensions in points: paper height, paper width, and the left/right/top/bottom display area boundaries For a given paper size, are the dimensions identical for ALL printers or are these implementation dependent? -- +------------------------------------ | Tony Field ..uunet!utai!calgary!ajfcal!tony | Co-Design Information Systems Ltd. | Calgary, Alberta, Canada voice: (403) 266-3239

The physical paper sizes are standard, but the actual region of the paper that the printer can write on varies from printer to printer, as do the supported paper sizes. Not only does the "size" of the imageable area vary, but so does its position relative to the Postscript origin. I don't know any way of getting this information from the printer itself - I found it various manuals for most of my printers. I would be grateful for any clarification of this.
