[comp.lang.postscript] question about stringwidth

snoopy@sopwith.UUCP (Snoopy) (06/01/89)

Does the stringwidth operator require a current point? The red book is
unclear. It says "calculates the change in the current point that would
occur if ...", implying that there should be a current point. However,
nocurrentpoint is not listed as a possible error.

A program I grabbed off usenet works on PostScript interpreter A, but
gives a nocurrentpoint error on interpreter B, which I tracked down
to stringwidth.
