I want to add a vote for restructuring newsgroups. I would prefer to see math, physics .... and perhaps even cs :-) under the same banner. Given the way that old news versions and notes still won't go past 14 characters, maybe net.sci.all would be more polite. (Although names should still be able to go over 14 characters as long as we try to keep the first 14 unique.) How do we move groups without losing the articles we already have and keeping sequencing information? Doing a rmgroup and a create group results in an empty directory and no sign of the old one. Are we planning a "movegroup" command for future versions that would change one line in the active file to reflect the new name, and copy/move the current articles to the new location? -- -=> Avi E.
